Meet

Even if Lin Chiang did not explain anything, in Chen Zhan’s current state, he knows he can’t do random activities.

The ankle seemed to be just a normal sprain. He was about to find a hot towel to apply, when there was a sudden sound of footsteps outside the door.

So fast?

Chen Zhan limped and walked to the door, opened a gap, and saw a surprising face.

“Mr. Yin?”

Witnessing the surprise in his eyes, Yin Ronglan was silent for a while: “Who do you think it will be?”

“Enemy of the poor.” Chen Zhan said.

Yin Ronglan did not come empty-handed, set a gift box aside and said, “I heard that your arm is injured and came to have a look.”

The word “heard” is very subtle, and Chen Zhan raised his eyebrows: “Not from what you see on the Internet?”

Yin Ronglan: “I rarely surf the Internet.”

He accidentally overheard subordinates discussing Chen Zhan’s accident.

Chen Zhan did not delve into the use of words and said slowly: “I was cheap and greedy; someone invited me to eat, and I fell when I was on my way back.”

The claim that Chen Zhan was beaten by someone was rejected by Yin Ronglan from the beginning. The credibility is not high; he has seen Chen Zhan fight— the thin body exudes a strong force. Plus, he didn’t have the kind of character to eat a loss secretly and remain quiet.

As Chen Zhan rubbed his ankle, Yin Ronglan took the initiative to take over what he had to do before, screwing up the towel and placing it on the injury.

“Are you okay?”

Chen Zhan said: ” Broken, but still able.”

Yin Ronglan watched him calmly typing with one hand on the keyboard, and he couldn’t help laughing.

Just then, someone outside knocked on the door a few times: “Is Mr. Chen Zhan there?”

Yin Ronglan glanced at Chen Zhan -who nodded- and walked over to help him open the door.

The middle-aged man outside carrying a medicine chest froze when he saw him, and looked at Chen Zhan, who was in a cast in the back, from the gap. Knowing which one he was looking for, he said: “Mr. Lin asked me to come take a look at you.”

Chen Zhan didn’t refuse. When the doctor checked the ankle, he calmly said: “It just twisted, nothing serious.”

He had fought a lot with people before, and he could make an accurate estimate of his physical condition.

After careful examination, the doctor determined that there was no problem, and left the prepared medicated wine: “Apply regularly, don’t put too much stress on it.”

“Thank you.” Chen Zhan asked the key question: “I did not take the initiative to invite you, isn’t it more appropriate for the consultation fee to be charged to Lin Chiang?”

The doctor looked at him with a very complicated look: “Yes.”

Chen Zhan then resumed his work in peace.

While looking at Chen Zhan’s injury, the doctor couldn’t help but look back at Yin Ronglan. He always felt that he had seen this person, but he couldn’t remember where for a while.

As if he didn’t take his hard-thinking look into his eyes, Yin Ronglan walked over and shut the door calmly. (T/N: The doctor is still in the house)

“Do you need my help?”

Chen Zhan stretched his foot carelessly.

Yin Ronglan froze a little and helped him apply the medicine before saying, “Do you want me to write for you?”

Chen Zhan then reacted and realized he’d misunderstood the other person’s meaning. Yin Ronglan was asking if he needed to use oral dictation.

“No need.” Chen Zhan thought about it and tried to use a gentle tone as much as possible: “This is my repentance. You should get a decent job earlier while you are young.”

Yin Ronglan always felt that his expression looked like someone.

Chen Zhan also felt that his mood was similar to that of someone.

At about the same time, the two of them realized at the same time who it was……the old man across the hall.

Chen Zhan’s face was deep: “Am I aging prematurely?”

Yin Ronglan remained silent for a long time: “I am older than you.”

In a few moments, Chen Zhan said impassioned words with a similarly impassive tone: “Then let us work hard together.”

Originally he wanted to add ’embrace a better tomorrow’, but felt it was a bit uncomfortable in this situation and swallowed it back.

Listening to the back and forth, the doctor looked at Yin Ronglan who was sporting a helpless smile, and gestured wanting to say something in private.

When the two parties approached the door, the doctor summed it up and briefly stated: “When Mr. Lin called for an inquiry, he hoped for a friend to help to take care of Chen Zhan and promised that, as long as he was responsible for taking care of him until the injury healed, he was willing to pay 200,000.”

Yin Ronglan didn’t speak. The doctor looked at his unchanging face and had a little guilty conscience for no reason. He quickly suppressed this weirdness and continued: “Of course, the premise is that you have to make sure that Chen Zhan does not go out before the injury is healed, so that the reporter does not take photos and talk nonsense.”

The voice was not loud but, in this building, the door was nearly false, and Chen Zhan heard every word.

Yin Ronglan glanced at him and nodded, not knowing what to expect.

The doctor let out a sigh of relief and smiled a little more confident: “First give me your bank account number and account name. I’ll send 100,000 first; the final payment……”

Yin Ronglan raised his hand to stop the doctor: “Not in a hurry.”

The doctor felt that this person was quite reliable and no longer delayed going downstairs to drive home.

When Yin Ronglan entered the room, Chen Zhan was still struggling slowly to type.

“Heard all of it?”

Chen Zhan nodded perfunctorily, indulging in work.

Yin Ronglan took a chair a few steps away from him and sat down: “I will let him send you directly at that time.”

Chen Zhan stopped his fingers and frowned: “What do you mean? That’s your wages; why should it be sent to me.”

Wages?

Yin Ronglan raised her eyebrows secretly because of the fresh remark, and then could not help but laugh lowly.

Chen Zhan couldn’t help but look at him seriously. To be honest, this person’s emotions were quite strange; he didn’t feel anything was funny in that sentence at all.

Chen Zhan was prepared to live a life without walking out of the door, but Lin Chiang could only go back and forth between the company and his home in order to complete his work on time. The only good thing is that the moths1 on Chen Zhan’s side had temporarily stopped.

The next day, he had a little cold and had his private doctor came to see him. He’d served the Lin family for more than ten years.

“The body is more important than business.” The doctor advised.

Lin Chiang pressed his eyebrows and said: “The people underneath are not good at doing things, and nothing can be fully considered.” Suddenly opened his eyes and said: “Fortunately, you just happened to run into the friend of the bastard, otherwise I have to bother to find him a nurse.”

The doctor said while dispensing medicine: “Hands up.” Suddenly he joked again: “Money is not easy to earn; you must learn to save.”

Lin Chiang froze for a while and felt a little headache: “When Chen Zhan is healed, I will find time to talk to him, to avoid similar topics appearing.” Thinking for a moment, he said: . “That friend of his way must be the reincarnation of living Buddha”2

It was a satire to Chen Zhan. No one would expect there were still friends who were willing to go visit.

The doctor smiled slightly: “Remember to pay his consultation fee.”

The president went in sick to work and did not take an extra penny of income; Chen Zhan continued writing while injured and succeeded in getting a vote of pity: “Although it’s still very annoying, some rewards can be given in case something similar happens later.” Similar comments abound.

After counting the money in the small vault, Chen Zhan admitted that he was blessed by misfortune.

Yin Ronglan will probably come every two or three days. Most of the time he comes to say a few words and can’t find a place to help. Chen Zhan is a person with a strong ability to live. Except that the coding is slower, his arm injury does not seem to affect his life at all, and his place is still well organized.

“Blazing wind grass.3” Yin Ronglan’s thin lips moved, giving a comment.

Even if there is no explanation at all, you can hear the praise in his words.

Chen Zhan’s eyes stopped blinking for a few seconds, and he frowned instead of smiling. He was not used to others giving over-the-top praise.

“How many days until you can remove the cast?” Yin Ronglan asked about his injury, as if the praise just now was just casually said.

Chen Zhan glanced at the calendar and made a scissors hand.

“Two days later I just happen to be free.” Yan Ronglan thought, said: “I’ll drive you.”

Chen Zhan gazed at him and seemingly unintentionally said: “Borrowing car?”

During the process of getting along with each other, Yin Ronglan found Chen Zhan’s temperament would always be a bit defensive, and he immediately smiled and said: “My car broke down and is still in the repair shop, so I can only borrow one.”

Chen Zhan has always been suspicious of Yin Ronglan’s identity. Saying he’s poor—there is no hint of the sense of restraint you’d expect from a poor person. According to dramatic development, he (YR) should be a low-key wealthy businessman, but he can’t see the style of the rich. Once, he used an excuse to peek at the logo on Yin Ronglan’s clothes and checked it on the Internet to make sure it was not a famous brand.

Nothing makes sense; Chen Zhan can only continue to get along with the person Yin Ronglan portrays himself as every day.

He did not reject the proposal of the other party. He looked at Yin Ronglan: “Then trouble you. I will invite you to eat afterwards.”

The two days went as fast as a blink of an eye. The doctor said that the recovery was very good. After removing the cast, he told him not to do heavy work in the near future.

Yin Ronglan and Chen Zhan are both people who do not play mobile phones very much. On the way back, they communicate verbally. Chen Zhan looked down at the mobile phone when he was approaching the community and shook his head: “Lin Chiang is still on the hot search. ”

Because of the ‘beating incident’, the opponent’s every move has become the focus of attention.

Chen Zhan even saw the bizarre arrangement that the two parties reached a private settlement. Lin Chiang had sent a lawyer’s letter to the media companies about the false rumors, but the heat continued for two weeks.

I wonder if it was God’s will. When he raised his head again, he saw a familiar figure standing at the door of the community.

Despite wearing a mask and the distance being a little further, Chen Zhan recognized Lin Chiang at a glance.

Some people’s temperament is inherently dazzling in the crowd.

Yin Ronglan didn’t seem to notice anything, concentrating on performing the duties of a driver, and parking the car.

When Chen Zhan got off the bus, he could not help admiring the other’s car skills when he saw the size of the parking space. This kind of tiny place could also be occupied.

Lin Chiang also noticed this, frowning when he saw Chen Zhan. This impatience had not lasted for a second. When he noticed Yin Ronglan who came over later, his eyes moved, and his expression instantly changed.

At his position, he naturally knew the identity of Yin Ronglan. It’s actually not difficult to succeed as a noble son, but it’s hard to climb the ranks of class and succeed.

Yin Ronglan is a legend in this circle.

“This……”

He didn’t get a chance to ask yet, Chen Zhan interrupted out of fear that he would not pay the bill. He reminded: “Aren’t you the one who asked him to be my nanny? Remember to pay.”

There was a moment of silence, speculating on several possible situations.

Lin Chiang’s complex expression has become more difficult to figure out. Inviting such a nanny…… how can he!

Footnotes

1. I can’t think of a suitable English word for this right now, but ‘moths’ basically means annoyances/little tricks. Basically, nothing troublesome is coming from Chen Zhan ^

2. Basically, only the most benevolent person could be willing to be his friend ^

3. Chinese idiom meaning (according to baidu) ‘In blazing wind, only strong grass won’t be knocked down’. I can’t think of a short enough English equivalent, and I feel like rephrasing what he says into some long comment to explain the meaning would just distract from the story so, I just kept the literal translation ^
